Yep…That is me pictured above! My assignment was a self portrait in a paint medium and I chose to paint myself pretending to clean house. Needless to say, mom did NOT hang it over the fireplace!
I don’t like talking about myself that much so I’ll give ya the gist of it: Grew up in the Washington DC area (I say that because when I say Waldorf, Md., I spend the next twenty minutes describing where Waldorf is.) I was fortunate enough to have a group of friends since grade school that wouldn’t let you forget anything stupid that you did and certainly didn’t let anything go. With the amount of crap we dished out to each other, I’m not sure why we are still friends but we are.
My best friend, Paul, was my right-hand man.(NO!!..NO!!.Not BFF’s!! I hate that term….even though it would be fitting in this case) From grade school on we were, and still are, like brothers. We did everything together. One day, out of the blue, drove to Philly PA for a Tony Lukes Authentic Philly Cheesesteak…..cuz we wanted a real philly cheesesteak (I ate two..in one sitting…they were fantastic) Then, we kept driving to N.Y. City because we had never been there and wanted to see it.
Blah, Blah, Blah,….I want to color for a living and A Hollow Point is my attempt to make that happen!
BOOM!…A Hollow Point is born.
